We get requests all the time to post weddings on the blog.. some great, some amazing and some that just rip your friggin heart out of your chest. This is one of those. One of those true love stories that would make anyone believe in love. Believe in fate. It’s a story that will undoubtedly leave you with tears in your eyes just as it has to us. Sometimes though, its just whats needed to believe in that four letter word. Love.
From the soon to be bride: Hayden and I don’t really have a cool “how we met” story because we’ve known each other for most of our lives. Our families go back as being friends for decades and he was always this redhead boy I had a crush on growing up. I swear I knew for years before we actually dated that he was “the one” and that I would one day love him, like really love him. After college our paths crossed again and it was finally our time. Sadly, right around the same time we began going on our first dates, my dad passed away. It wasn’t until a month after my dad passed that I was dating Hayden. I know the Lord works in mysterious ways and it’s really as if he took an amazing man from me and replaced him with another. A piece of my heart was gone, but a new piece was added. A piece that I never knew I couldn’t live without. Two years into our relationship, Hayden was in a very serious work accident that threatened his life and ended with two plastic surgeries and a week stay in the hospital. Almost losing him solidified even more that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with this man. A year later, on the anniversary of his accident, Hayden asked me to be his wife. We will be married on July 1, 2017. When I look ahead I have no fear because I know I will have this man standing by my side for every big and little moment – good and bad. I can’t wait to say #YestoYancey
